Long Beach Seafood
This is another $0 dinner. It's $0 because the company paid for it, not bcoz the dinner is free. The occasion was that we finished a big project and we had dinner with our client. Long Beach is a good place to bring ang moh for dinner.
Why is it a good place?
1. The seafood there are really fresh~! Coz everything is still swimming and alive until you order them.
2. They cook it Asian style but suitable for ang moh consumption.
3. The place is got lots of ang mohs, so can be considered high class gua.
4. They serve beer. You give ang moh any alcohol, they will be HAPPY d.
Raw lobster~ The meat is being removed and placed on the white plate there. You can either eat the meat raw with wasabi or u can boiled it inside the soup. The herbal soup is quite nice. Gets salty after boiling it for a long time tho.
Sean, George, me and the poor lobster taking photo with us~.~
The whiskers were still moving when it was served. Talk about animal cruelty.. =.=||
As you can see... we had beer. Something that couldn't be avoided when u're with ang mohs... They can drink whenever and wherever...
Steamed Mussels with lots of minced garlic. This is the best dish of the night. I find that this is the best way to cook seafood. The sweetness of the seafood is preserved and on top of that, the minced garlic~~ man I'm lovin it~!
Thai Style Deep fried Fish. Nothing special about this fish tho... It's really a big waste to deep fry such a fresh fish. Well, the ang mohs like it... nothing much can be done as the ang moh like it this way.
Pepper Crab~one of the popular dish at Long Beach! See how big are the clamps there~! I can assure you that it's filled with meat inside. Not some crab with big shell but empty inside.
Although the head is high in cholesterol... but nvm lar~ only eat once in the blue moon. Somemore I exercise so often already. No harm lar... hahaha
Then the poor lobster got chopped into pieces and fried with flat noodles. Tho the taste is good, but it's the last dish... I'm too full to eat anymore by the time it was served.

25 Dempsey Road, Tanglin Village,

Above is their address. You can also find out more at www.longbeachseafood.com.sg
We then had Durian near the restaurant. Now u know why I grow fat so easily. Haha.

My Movie Weekend: Click (2006)
Just finished watching an old movie last Sunday. Not that old actually, it's a 2 year old movie by Adam Sandler, titled "Click".
The movie is about a workaholic (Michael Newman) who doesn't have time for his family. One day, he got a universal remote control that enable him to fast forward, skip, pause and rewind(but not change) his life. By using it, he bypass the distractions so that he can concentrate on his work. But as days goes by, the remote control gradually autopilot his life by they way he used remote control in the past.
A great comedy with some drama and fantasy elements. No wonder the movie got nominated in Academy Award.
I find this movie very meaningful. It's like a wake up call for me actually. Something to get me thinking how to get close to my family as I am all alone in a foreign country.
Go watch this movie if u got the chance. U won't regret watching this movie.

Dusty Fan Cleaned
Another before and after post, but a different one. This time, is a dirty fan that have not been wash since I moved into this house February this year. LOL. I decided to wash the fan on a fine Sunday coz I have nothing to do. Yes, I am so bored until I decided to do some cleaning at home.
This is how the fan looks like b4 washed. Maybe u can't really see how dirty the fan is from this picture. Let me show you a closed up below.
Just to give you an idea how filthy the fan is... see the dirt.... dust.... grease... hair... Total weight for all these must be more than 10kg there... No wonder the fan can't turn at all without manual push start.
There was a lot of screws need to be removed b4 I am able to take out the motor and give the fan a wash. The designer of this fan must a an ex-airplane designer. Took me like 20 minutes to dissemble everything. =____________="
After all my hard work removing the 10kg of watever not suppose to be on the fan. This is how it looks~! Woohoo~! A clean fan~!
OMG~! The colour of the blade is SILVER~!!! You all should wash ur fan more often to know the original colour of the blade too~! w00ts~! Unless u want the change the colour to black.

and after~~

DELL Vostro 1400
I got a new laptop from company before CNY.
Before CNY was around.... 21st January. They processed my order quite fast considering that I heard rumors that they need 1 month to process an order. I placed the order on 17th January and I got it on 21st~! Looks like Dell business drop a lot.
Following is the spec of the DELL Vostro 1400 I got.
-Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor T7500, 2.2GHz, 4MB Cache, 800 MHz FSB
-Genuine Windows(R) XP Professional SP2
-14.1" UltraSharp(TM) Widescreen WXGA+ (1440x 1900) TFT Display with TrueLife(TM)
-2GB (2 X 1024MB) 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM
-250GB SATA Hard Drive
-Internal 8X DVD+/-RW, Dual Layer
-NVIDIA(R) GeForce(TM) 8400M GS with 128MB GDDR3 dedicated graphic memory
-Integrated 2.0 Megapixel webcam
-Microsoft(R) Office 2007 Basic OEM Version c/w Word/Excel/Outlook
-McAfee(R) Security Center(TM) - 24 Months OEM
-3-Year Limited Warranty (Next Business Day Service - parts & labour)
-3 Years Plus Phone Support: Mon-Fri 0900-2100, Sat 0900-1600
-8-in-1 media card reader
-Bluetooth + Wireless A/B/G + Fast Ethernet + 56k Modem
There are still many details like those bundled software and accessories that I didn't mention above. They are just insignificant.
This laptop cost S$2,095.06 inclusive of GST 7%.
My house mates bought the exact same laptop too. Without Microsoft Office, McAfee Security Center and only 1 year warranty, they got it at RM3,202.00.
Including my unit, we have 4 same laptop at home. Like we are die hard Dell supporter... haha. But obviously we bought this laptop because it's dang cheap. Oh yeah, and the sales girl whom I spoke to have a really nice voice. Too bad I only ordered a laptop from her. As I placed order for another 3 Desktop Computer online already.
Before I finalized my decision, I actually went to survey around Singapore to check on pricing of current laptops. At that time, IBM Thinkpad, Toshiba can easily cost S$2,400 compare to mine which is just S$2,100 with the same spec if not lousier. Good deal right? Can help the company save S$300.
Performance wise, I am also quite satisfied after manually tweaking it. It was kinda lag when I first used it. I can type a lot of things and it appear only after a second... Well, blame all the bundled software installed by DELL... such as Media Direct, Network Assistant.
Surprisingly this laptop able to produce the same 3D Mark score with my previous company laptop with ATI X700 graphic card. It surprised me a little coz 8400GS is just an entry level GPU compare with X700 which is a mid-range level GPU a few generations back. But then entry level is still entry level. I'm happy as long as it's not built-in graphics.
Physical appearance of the laptop, looks good to me. I dun really care how my laptop look anyway. Coz most of the time I will be just looking at the monitor. My eyes won't have time to appreciate how the back of my monitor look and I won't care if ppl will feel amazed with my laptop or not. As long as the laptop perform well, I dun really care. I wouldn't want a expensive laptop which look pretty and all but perform like shit.
After 5 months using it, I still do not have any complains for this laptop. Still dun understand why some ppl hate DELL so much. Maybe the have bad experience with DELL like how I had bad experience with ACER. Dunno if Acer improved, as my opinion is based on my past experience.
That's about all I have to say about this DELL Vostro 1400.

Overdue Entries
Been really lazy to update my blog. Partly because I try not to sit in front of my computer after work. Coz there are more things to do than sitting in front of the PC. Even if I am sitting in front of the PC, I would choose to do other things instead of blogging. Coz I am lazy as well.
Below are the few things that I wanted to blog but still didn't manage post up -___- yet....
Gathering with all my fellow schoolmates of Chung Ling Butterworth last year December.
3 Tier Cabinet project done long long time ago...
Frog Porridge at......
GEYLANG~!
Super dinner at Long Beach...
Drinking session at NUSS, this is just finger food obviously.
My new working laptop
Dinner at Sakae Sushi with 3 siao cha bo
New wing at Midvalley
Company Dinner with "Buddha Jump Over Wall" (佛跳墙)
Golf Driving Range... after 10 years not playing
Short Visit at City Square, Johor.
Meet up with Carmen, Dodo & ball-less N!ck...
"Lunch" with Z0E
China Trip with Parents during CNY
Wah lao... a lot of things leh... but I dun have the habit of writing a dairy. Hmm... Maybe I should find a faster way to blog. Like keeping a copy of all my photos in 500 pixel wide form and throw all into Picasaweb... but then still need to take time and pick the photos 1 by 1. Maybe I should forget about the idea of inserting watermark in all my photos. That should save me a lot of time.
Best solution would be changing by lazy attitude -_________- I guess....
